Diecast Review: Bburago 1:43 scale Ferrari SF90

If you’re a Charles Leclerc fan looking for a diecast model of his 2019 #16 SF2019 what options do you have? You’ll either be looking at a BBR (expensive), Looksmart (mid-range budget) or Bburago (cheaper) in 1:18 or 1:43 formats.

I haven’t really looked at Bburago in recent years as my past experience was limited to their 1:24 scale plastic chassis Ferrari 310 in the late 90s’s but couldn’t resist a recent Bburago sale of 1:43 2019 Ferrari cars by a local hobby shop for $10.

Admittedly, I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality of the low end Bburago – the die cast paint (new Ferrari matte red) and the detailing are probably equivalent to the old Hotwheels Ferrari 1:43’s but Hotwheels were comparative more expensive.

If you have the choice, go for the Bburago Signature series – these are in 1:43 scale with driver figure and housed in a conventional perspex display box. The cheaper 1:43 series are in a cardboard box with clear plastic perspex window similar the old Hotwheels packaging for 1:43 Ferraris.
