CMC 2020 catalog – a quick peek

Although the most valuable CMC diecasts are its sportscar models such as the Ferrari Sypder and 250 GTO, CMC do offer a decent range of vintage 1:18 grand prix F1 diecast models and from a F1 diecast collectors’ perspective are probably most associated for their rendition of early era grand prix cars like the Auto Union and Mercedes Silver Arrows. Although no longer in production, the CMC 1:18 Ferrari Dino 156 is an excellent model for its price point (read review post here).

CMC’s latest 2020 catalog is available from its website (link here) and while they no longer make the Mercedes W196 or the Maserati 250F, their current line up of 1:18 scale grand prix cars still include some iconic cars including:

  • Auto Union Type C Rosemeyer and
  • Auto Union Type C Stuck Hillclimb version
  • Bugatti Type 35
  • Ferrari D50 short and long nose – Fangio & Collins
  • Castellotti Lancia D50
  • Lancia D50  Ascari and Pilette twin set
  • Fagilio and von Brautisch Mercedes W25
  • Richard Seaman’s Mercedes W125 & W154

CMC collectors will know that the all these models contain detailed internal engine wiring, plumbing, suspension, brakes and detailed dashboard and quality seat finishing.

I have to confess from the catalog photos, the  Mercedes SSKL 1931 diecast looks phenomenal.
