The sport of F1 never stands still – in the blink of an eye, 20 year Red Bull Racing stalwart Christian Horner is fired and Nico Hulkenburg finally scores a podium!
Bruce Jones has been a regularly pumping out books on F1 circuits and history. His latest book “F1 Racing – The Ultimate Companion” is another compilation of circuits and drivers in F1 history.
There are 5 chapters for each geographic region – Europe, Americas, Asia and Middle East, Africa and Oceania. Each chapter features the host country of current and past F1 circuits in that region, drivers from that country and rememberable GP moments.
Naturally the Europe chapter is big – from Austria, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Germany, UK and France but smaller motorsport countries like Czechia, Ireland, Liechtenstein are also mentioned. There are some basic country facts on circuits and drivers and a thumbnail circuit diagram.
Photography is a mix of old B&W photos like Fangio, Jack Brabham great double page colour spreads (Lewis airborne at Le Combes in 2022, Danny Ric leading the 2021 Italian GP at Monza) and modern era race photos (e.g. Qatar, Las Vegas, etc)
Wow Factor/Money shot: Double page spread photos – Rubens in the Brawn GP leading the 2009 Brazilian GP; Max in the Red Bull at Zandvoort banking corner.
Suitable for: New F1 fans
[Ed note: Due to WordPress upgrade issue – the usual book details and star ratings systems aren’t working on new reviews. I’ll try to fix as soon as possible.]
