Book Review: Michael Schumacher Sebastian Vettel Zwei Champions – Neun Truimphe
Positives
Negatives
As we are reminded of Michael Schumacher’s 50th birthday, many F1 fans still greatly miss the legendary German driver. While Schumi’s countryman – Sebastian Vettel tries to emulate the revival of Ferrari in the footsteps of his boyhood hero – both Schumacher and Vettel were the ultimate dream team for Germany in the annual Race of Champions event from 2007-2012.
In 2011, a German book publication “Zwei Champions – Neun Truimphe” compiled the careers of both drivers – Michael was then past his peak in his Mercedes comeback seasons and Sebastian was in his purple patch of multiple world championships at Red Bull. In this book, I find the early career sections of both drivers contained a decent selection of karting and junior formula photos – much has been written on Michael’s early career but less on Sebastian. Not being a native German reader, I can’t comment too much on the narration, however there appears to be a substantial amount of text.
The photography doesn’t appear to be unique and the layout is very similar to a motorsport magazine style.
The book also makes mention of other notable German F1 drivers but doesn’t really make mention of Nico Rosberg or Nico Hulkenberg. If German F1 drivers are your point of of interest – you will be better off taking a look at Rainier Schlegelmilch’s and Ralf Bach’s excellent book “Die Formel 1 Spricht Deutsche” instead.
