A look at 1:18 scale display cases

I received an email question from a reader asking about display cases for 1:18 scale diecasts. As all collectors know, 1:18 scale models and larger take up shelf space and if you accumulate more than a few, you quick run into display space issues. Leaving them unboxed attracts a lot of dust, so if you’re serious about taking care of your 1:18 collection, a display case is a must.

A popular display case for 1:18’s is by AutoArt.

There are plenty of other alternatives. Most model shops will sell generic 1:18 cases. I have a few made by Polyfect which provides a lower case height than the AutoArt. Much easier to stack too!

Of course, many Minchamps and Hotwheels collectors are more than happy to keep their models in their original boxes which include a plastic window panel for viewing.
