These days F1 fans have a number of F1 yearbooks to choose from. The go-to title is probably the comprehensive Autocourse annual. Another option though is the F1 annual published by Italian publisher Autosprint. I was randomly looking through the 2015 season edition which was a 3rd world title for Lewis and Mercedes but also marked the debut of a teenage Max Verstappen at Toro Rosso. This annual has a Kaspersky Lab (one of Ferrari’s main sponsors that year) foreword with Seb and Kimi photographed alongside the nicely aesthetic SF-15T on the cover.

Although this is a yearbook containing a summary of each GP and race statistics (this appears at the back), it is actually more of a photo album of the season profiling every team and driver. Photo wise, there is plenty of eye candy. Much of the photography are from the team libraries themselves including Mercedes AMG, Lotus F1, Manor Marussia and McLaren.

There little in the way of narrative content other than the season race summary at the rear, although there is an interview with Max, Carlos and their respective fathers Jos and Carlos Snr.

As a large square format hardcover, the unique appeal of this book is definitely the double page race photos – the close up snaps and top down cockpit photos are fantastic. At 180 pages, there are easily 150 pages of eye candy photos to admire.

Wow Factor/Money shot: Double page photo spreads galore

Suitable for: Modern era F1 fans
